Pothera ERP · MRP and procurement

MRP Software for Indian Manufacturers

Pothera ERP MRP works out what material the production plan needs, nets it against stock in hand and reorder levels, and auto-generates purchase indents. Indents move through multi-level approvals, quotation comparison and landed-cost calculation into purchase orders, with batch and lot tracking from receipt — so stores stop guessing and buyers stop firefighting.

Who it is for: Pothera ERP MRP is built for Indian manufacturers with roughly ₹10–500 crore annual turnover that buy components for BOM-based products and want fewer shortages and less excess stock.

Bsquare’s take

“Shortages and excess stock are the same problem seen from two ends: purchase working from yesterday’s plan. MRP fixes it only when the plan, the BOM and the stock live in one system.”

Frequently asked questions

What is MRP software?

MRP (material requirements planning) software calculates which materials and components a production plan needs, when, and in what quantity, after netting against stock and open orders, and then raises purchase requirements.

What is the difference between MRP and ERP?

MRP covers material planning for production. ERP covers the whole business — sales, production, MRP, inventory, quality, accounts and HR — on one database. Pothera ERP includes MRP.

How do you calculate MRP net requirements?

Gross requirement = order quantity × quantity per unit × (1 + scrap %). Net requirement = gross requirement + safety stock − stock on hand − stock on order. Round up to the supplier’s minimum order quantity.

Does Pothera ERP generate purchase indents automatically?

Yes. Pothera ERP auto-generates purchase indents based on MRP runs, reorder levels and stock in hand.

Is MRP software useful for small manufacturers?

Yes, once you buy components for BOM-based products. It prevents both shortages and over-buying, which small manufacturers feel quickly in cash flow.

What is landed cost?

Landed cost is the full cost of material at your door — purchase price plus freight, duties, insurance and handling. Pothera ERP calculates it so material cost in production reflects reality.
